Soccer Outfit and trip to Manhattan.

Soccer Outfit and trip to Manhattan.

I've always loved soccer. My father was the captain of our local team in 60s. Their team won a lot of trophies. I remember myself as a small girl, going with my grandfather to the village sports field to watch the game every Sunday (my father was often playing). When I was a teenager I watched the World Cup with my dad. I wasn't a tomboy, but I remembering playing a soccer myself with boys in our improvised soccer field. Below is a picture of my father, a soccer player (on the left).

My memories probably influenced my desire to create this outfit for the doll. It was fun and I really like the result. It is a knitted version of the original Sasha doll Sport soccer outfit (original below)

We went to Manhattan yesterday and took some pictures of our trip. The goal was to find grass to take pictures and have fun.

Waiting for the train to arrive...

We were walking and walking, and finally got to Madison Park. I think it would be hard to play soccer in such tall grass, but for it was good enough for pictures.

Then we packed and continued our trip in the park and through Manhattan.
There was a squirrel...

and there was something very interesting on our way out.

The Flatiron Building

Unfortunately the LEGO store was already closed.
(Anthony was disappointed...)

A few picture of NYC streets.

It was time to go home...

Next time I have to remember to take a hair net for the doll to prevent the hair mess when he's sitting in a bag :)

On our way home we saw a sports field next to one of our local schools. So I decided to take a chance and take a few pictures. It was good too, but I would say that pictures from the park are more colorful.
While I was taking pictures, some kids came and showed interest in my doll. They liked soccer too and were amazed by the doll and his small backpack, ball and outfit.

So I would say the trip was successful and I am pretty satisfied with all the pictures that I took and I had a very good time, even though it felt a little strange at first to be walking around alone with a doll and taking pictures. But than I got used to it, and no one was pointing fingers at me or laughing. :)))))))))))
