Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays to all my doll friends!
I wish you good health and happiness, a lot of inspiration, and new, beautiful ideas with your dolls and other hobbies.
Stay safe and I hope your holidays are
wonderful.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Santa's little helper, helped to deliver toys to our Sasha children! This year there were a lot of beautiful toys and books and sweets. We borrowed this beautiful costume from one of our Boyd's Bears family.
With some adjustments, it fits a baby Sasha nicely.

We also have a new Christmas tree here in the doll corner this year. I am very happy with how it turned out. I wanted a tree with a specific look, and it is exactly as I imagined it.

I will post more pictures of Sasha dolls with their presents later. The days are very short, and there is  too much artificial light in the evening! Daytime pictures look so much better.

Also, we had a very interesting guest today who was checking out our tree ornaments and toys.

It is Prudence, she approved everything and left peacefully. :)

Big Project

For the last few months, I have been very busy with a big project. My son turned thirty this year, and I had the idea of making him The Great American Aran Afghan with thirty different squares in it. I started a bit late, at the end of July, and it was very intensive work. However, I was able to finish it right before his birthday. Here it is, my biggest ever knitting project!

Also my beautiful Zygocactus (the Thanksgiving type) bloomed in October, a month early. It was very pretty.

A few days ago, I realized that I haven't posted on the blog or knitted anything for my dolls for quite a while. I've missed it a lot! At the end of the summer, I changed my dolls into fall outfits for the season and I realized that I definitely have to start knitting or sewing for them more often. :)

It seems they have their fun doll life anyway and have something to talk about.  :)

Also our cat, Prudence checks on them frequently. She even got cozy once and slept there half of the day!

She was so quiet. I was working on the computer and even didn't realize that she was there for a few hours.
The babies look almost concerned and at the same time, wondering what this giant is doing here!

Oliver

He is beautiful! The doll arrived in August, and was wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap, in a plastic envelope. For a moment I  thought it was something else, not a doll. Usually dolls are sent in boxes. I am not complaining though, it was wrapped enough to not be damaged. But it was probably thrown around a lot. :)

This is the seller's picture. They managed to capture a very nice expression, I was immediately drawn in.

When I opened the bubbles wrap, the baby boy seemed tired from his travels, or maybe from a long time sitting somewhere on someone's shelf. No original clothes, he was wearing only a lovely handmade cotton shirt. The body and hair looked perfect, just a little dusty. He has lovely eyes.

The baby boy was fascinated by the foxes on the towel.

There were more foxes in the room.

And he was very curious, who are they?

From examining him, it showed that he needed restringing.  I wanted him to be well. That pushed me to try my first restringing. I posted about it in a previous post.

Today I wanted to take pictures with a fall theme in the fox outfit I made long ago. While I was deciding who will wear it today, I just chose the new baby boy. Later, it occurred to me that he had wanted to look like those beautiful foxes on the towel, so it worked out.

While we were walking in the park, I was thinking about a name for him, and I said Oliver.

It was a lovely afternoon walk. A lot of pretending to be a fox.

We also saw two goats, Lulu and Patches. The goats are working in the Van Cortlandt Park Museum this summer, eating poison ivy and other vegetation.

It is still very green in the park, but some leaves are starting to change their colors. Fall is on its way. Happy Autumn to all!
